You’re There Before Me-a poem
Jonathan Micah Redditt, my little brother
I barely knew you.
But I’ll see you on the other side.
Even if you’re there before me.
An untimely cord embraced your throat,
Welcoming you into God’s presence.
Even though it’s God’s will I want to know
Why you’re there before me?
Prematurely born in mid April
You were taken from us all.
I’ve never seen your face,
But I know you’re there before me.
One day, by God’s grace, I’ll see you.
We will fellowship in God’s presence.
Until then I’ll have to live with the fact
That you’re there before me.
